Today is the relaunch of CJ koeck sports! and it couldnt be a better day to relaunch. The college football season got underway last night, but the Big Ten season starts tonight with Michigan st taking on Boise St. This is the first of two big games for the Big ten this week, the other being Michigan vs Alabama at the palace in Dallas. This first post will be me picking all the big ten games of the week, minus the Badgers who will get their own preview post later tonight, plus picking a couple other big games this week. Lets get to it!
Minnesota at UNLV: I didnt get this pick in writing before the game yesterday, but I wrote down Minnesota before the game started so thats my pick and im already 1-0 this year.
Boise St at Michigan st: What a doozy to start the season for the Big Ten. Michigan st takes on one of the powers of college football over the past seven years, the Boise state Broncos. The spartans come into the year being seen as one of three teams with a great shot at making it to Pasadena, along with Michigan and Wisconsin. Boise st meanwhile has lost a lot coming into the year, and is only ranked twenty fourth to start this year. pick: Michigan st
Northwestern at Syracuse: Pick: Northwestern
Miami (OH) at Ohio ST: Pick: Ohio st
Ohio at Penn St: Aside from the two huge games, this one will probably get the most attention in the Big ten. It should be a surreal scene at beaver stadium, as the Nittany Lions play their first home game in over eight months, and in that span so much has happened. it will be a rough few years for Penn st, but for this one game none of that will matter. Many are picking Ohio, but the Lions still boist some good talent, and I think emotion will push them to a close win in this one. Pick: Penn St
Western Michigan at Illinois: Pick: Illinois
Southern Miss at Nebraska: Pick: Nebraska
Iowa at Northern Illionois: Pick: Iowa
Eastern Kentucky at purdue: pick: Purdue
Indiana st at Indiana: Pick: Indiana
Alabama at Michigan: The game of the week in not just the big ten, but college football. I genuinely believe Michigan comes onto this year overrated. They were propelled by a win in a BCS bowl game last year they shouldnt have been in against a weak team. Theyre still top 20 good, just not number 12 good. They will also be without their star wide receiver Lattimore in this game. I just cant see them matching up well against this Alabama defense. Pick: Alabama
Now onto picking some of the other big games this week
Clemson at Auburn: Pick: Auburn
NC st at Tennessee: Pick: Tennessee
Kentucky at Louisville: Pick: Louisville
Look for a Wisconsin week 1 preview later tonight!
