Bolts fight hard but cant overcome Bruins, fall 4-2

The Lighning played very well for most of the final 55 minutes of Thursdays game against the Bruins, but its simply extremely hard to overcome a poor start against a good team. Just 3:50 into the game the Lightning already found themselves trailing 2-0. The Bolts fought back with Stamkos' 11th of the season, and Cory Conachers sixth tied it for the Bolts 9 minutes into the second period. after all of that hard work Brad Marchand found a loose puck and slammed it into the net less than five minutes after the Bolts tied it. 2:33 into the third and Nathan Horton tipped in a puck to extend the lead to two. From there Boston locked it down defensively, giving the Bolts very little chances, and the game ended unceremoniously 4-2.

Remember when I joked before the game that the Bruins power play was so bad maybe the best strategy was to give them a power play the whole game? well the exact opposite happened. The Bruins didnt get a single power play the whole game. The Bolts had three, but didnt fare well in any of them, dropping their PP percentage below 25% for the first time all season.

We are now at the 1/3 mark of the season, and The Bolts are tied with the Canes for first place in the division, and guess who they play tomorrow? It will be a huge game in Raleigh as the winner is put on top of the division.
